Sourced from OvertureOverture launches its sponsored search services in Brazil, Taiwan and French Canada; our Australian market signs three major down-under firms as distribution partners.

Opening up new opportunities for online businesses that are looking to connect with customers in South America, the Far East and “The Great White North”, Overture recently launched its 16th, 17th and 18th international markets. Additionally, another of our recent new markets, Australia, has added a trio of high-powered distribution partners.

Brazil
The land of samba and skimpy bathing suits now also has its very own Overture sponsored search marketplace. Overture Brazil is displaying advertisers’ listings on major partners such as Yahoo! Brasil, Cad? and AltaVista Brasil. The Brazilian service will accept advertiser listings in Brazilian Portuguese, English, German and French; and has a minimum bid of $0.15 Brazilian Real.

Taiwan
Taiwan is Overture’s third Asian market, following Japan and Korea. If you want to reach more than 80 percent of active Internet users in this highly wired country, you can do so through our distribution network that includes Yahoo! Taiwan, MSN Taiwan, UDN and China Times. Overture Taiwan is now accepting new advertiser listings in both Traditional Chinese and English with a minimum bid of $3.00 Taiwan Dollars.

French Canada
The third of our recent market openings is in Canada. Overture Canada accepts French-language listings only, and will display listings on the French-language versions of our Canadian partner sites, which include Yahoo! Canada and MSN.ca/Sympatico. Bids on keywords in this market start at $0.15 Canadian Dollars.

Australia – New Partners Down Under
Overture Australia recently added three major sites to its network of distribution partners, helping advertisers connect with more customers on both general search sites and portals, as well as appropriate, targeted verticals.

The first of these new partners, media giant Fairfax Digital, features three paid placement listings at the top of the search results page across its network, which includes online versions of The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers. Also, our Australian market recently signed News Interactive to a deal that includes our entire range of products, including Precision MatchT, Content MatchT and Yahoo! Search.

Overture serves up to five advertiser listings on News Interactive in response to user searches. Optusnet, one of the most frequented ISP portals in Australia (RedSheriff), is Overture’s third new partner Down Under. Optusnet displays as many as four Overture results per page. Together with continuing partners nineMSN, Yahoo! Australian & NZ, AltaVista, Mooter Search, Ozemail and HP, Overture Australia now reaches approximately 90% of unduplicated Australian Internet users–representing the country’s largest distribution network.
